Leadership Development at a Federal Government Organization ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
A San Francisco-based Department of Education facility wanted to
provide assistance to leaders challenged by having to deal with
Solution: Specific needs were
identified and a two-day workshop was designed. Rather than simply
focusing on difficult behavior, participants were helped to
understand root causes of difficulty. In some instances, it was not difficult people, but diverse people, who participants found challenging.
Participants learned how to deal with differences rather than simply
reacting defensively to what they perceived to be problem behaviors.
Many participants realized that, under certain circumstances, everyone
(including themselves) could be "difficult" and that diversity made for
differences that required understanding not judgment. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Leadership Assessment and Development at a Growing Healthcare Organization ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Issue:After rapidly expanding through acquisition, a traditional-bricks-and-mortar healthcare organization needed to assess leaders at all levels to determine whether they had the required competencies to take the organization to the next level.
Solution:A leadership assessment and development initiative was launched that addressed needs of the executive team, middle management, emerging leaders, and physician leaders. Connections between the goals and vision of the executive leadership team were strengthened between the next level of leadership and the middle managers who were tasked with implementing the organization's vision and goals.
Result: The majority of members of this organization's executive team and middle management teams have remained in tact and continue to function efficiently and effectively. This has enabled the organization to continue to receive national acclaim. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
