Today's leadership environments are too complex for individual leaders to work effectively in isolation. Successful organizations have become increasingly aware of the potential that high performing teams have, for executing organizational strategy, responding to change, achieving growth, enhancing organizational effectiveness, and driving shareholder or stakeholder value. Conversely, organizations are also aware of the cost of under-performing teams.
Although many organizations have found value in team building that's linked to physical activities such as wilderness and endurance exercises, we use the Tuckman Team Model and a process of team-facilitated planning (e.g., strategic planning, project/operations planning, etc.) that provides an action learning platform which simultaneously enhances team functioning and performance.
